S&P 500 futures edged higher early Monday amid growing doubts that the U.S. and Iran will come to a lasting resolution to the conflict in the near term.
Futures for the Dow Jones Industrials backed off 79 points, or 0.2%, to 54,073.
Futures for the much-broader market edged up 2.5 points to 7,782.25
Futures for the NASDAQ Composite faded 44.5 points, or 0.1%, to 29,879.25.
The three major U.S. indexes are coming off their best weeks since April. The S&P 500 finished last week at an all-time closing record.
Investors will closely monitor consumer and producer price index readings due out this week for the latest insights on inflation. No major economic reports are expected on Monday.
Traders will also be watching for earnings reports due out this week from consumer-facing companies such as On Holding and Cava Group, as well as technology firms including Super Micro and CoreWeave
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 rocketed 2.1% Monday, while in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng hiked 1.1%.
Oil prices were better 96 cents to $79.14 U.S. a barrel.
Gold prices dulled $7.50 to $4,392.20 U.S an ounce.
