Canadian Low-Cost Airlines Flair And Lynx Expand Service

Flair and Lynx, Canada's two biggest low-cost carriers, are expanding their services.

Flair Airlines announced that it is increasing its daily flights to Canadian cities such as Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver.

The Edmonton-based airline said it plans to expand its fleet to 30 aircraft from 20 by the end of next year, with planned service on 70 routes. Flair has a goal to operate 50 aircraft within five years.

Flair is also planning to offer Canadians more flights to sun destinations next year such as Cancun, Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta in Mexico.

At the same time, Calgary-based Lynx Air announced plans to also expand its service in 2023, with plans to begin offering flights to the U.S.

The U.S. routes operated by Lynx will include Toronto to Orlando, Florida; Calgary to Phoenix, Arizona; Calgary to Los Angeles, California; and Calgary to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Both Flair Airlines and Lynx Air are privately held.
