Purolator To Spend $1 Billion Electrifying Its Vehicle Fleet

Canadian courier company Purolator is spending $1 billion to electrify its fleet of delivery vehicles by 2030.

Most of the money will go towards the purchase more than 3,500 electric delivery vehicles over the next seven years.

Privately held Purolator said the vehicle electrification represents the biggest investment in its 63-year history.

The company added that more than 60 of its terminals across Canada will go green by 2030 as it aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent.

The company said it plans to introduce 25 Ford e-transit vans in London, Ontario, Richmond, British Columbia, and Quebec City this month, with plans to add an additional 100 electric vehicles by year’s end.

Purolator said that its ultimate goal is to be net-zero on greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
