Federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty on Monday announced the launch of a three-month public consultation on financial literacy.
The efforts involved a 15-city tour, online forum and task force that will make recommendations on a national strategy for improving Canadians' knowledge of financial issues.
"Canadians face a growing number of complex financial decisions that affect their futures and steer our economy," Flaherty said in a statement. "That's why it is important for Canada to have a national strategy aimed at promoting and strengthening financial literacy."
