Canada’s industrial product price index rose unexpectedly last month.
Figures released Monday by Statistics Canada said that Canada’s Industrial Product Price Index gathered to 0.5%, from a loss of 0.2% in December. The nation's number-crunchers attribute the fall to higher prices for motorized and recreational vehicles, while lower prices for energy and petroleum products largely moderated the increase in the index.
Analysts had expected the index to fall 0.1% last month.
