New Carrier Canada Jetlines Begins Operations

Canada Jetlines, the latest carrier to enter the Canadian marketplace, has begun operations.

The first flight operated by Canada Jetlines successfully flew from Toronto to Calgary following
a launch ceremony.

The new airline, which is based in Mississauga, Ontario, is offering service between Toronto
and Calgary twice a week. The company is marketing itself as a “value-focused leisure carrier.”

While the Toronto to Calgary route is its only one currently, the company plans to expand and
eventually offer flights to the Caribbean and Americas.

Canada Jetlines currently operates one Airbus A320 aircraft. It plans to add a second aircraft
this December and hopes to expand the fleet to 15 Airbus A320s by 2025.

Canada Jetlines is not the only new airline to launch coming out of the pandemic. Edmonton-
based Flair Airlines serves 85 routes nationwide with a fleet of 18 aircraft. Calgary-based Lynx
airline launched last spring.
