U.S. Consumer Sentiment Slips in October

U.S. consumer sentiment improved in late October, but not by enough to exceed the reading from September, according to a survey released Friday by the University of Michigan and Reuters.

Sentiment rose to a revised 70.6 from a reading of 66.4 in early October, but was down from the September reading of 73.5.

Economists were expecting consumer sentiment to rise to 70.5.
