Futures tracking Canada's blue-chip stocks edged higher on Friday as upbeat corporate earnings supported sentiment, while investors digested domestic GDP data for May.
The TSX forged ahead 172.06 points to end Thursday at 35,505.84.
September futures edged higher 0.1% early Friday.
The Canadian dollar removed 0.05 cents to 71.32 cents U.S.
Magna International raised its annual profit forecast following a second-quarter earnings beat.
TMX Group and Pembina Pipeline both posted a rise in second-quarter net income late on Thursday.
Alimentation Couche-Tard said on Friday it plans to buy Poland's Zabka for about $8.7 billion. The deal is expected to close by December 2026.
On the economic front, Statistics Canada reports gross domestic product expanded 0.3% in May, as both goods-producing and services-producing industries expanded in the month.

U.S. stock futures were higher early Friday as Wall Street staged a sharp rebound, with upbeat earnings from Amazon adding to optimism.
Futures for the Dow Jones Industrials spiked 310 points, or 0.6%, to 52,690.
Futures for the S&P 500 jumped 34 points, or 0.5%, to 7,506.50.
Futures for the NASDAQ Composite leaped 353.50 points, or 1.3%, to 28,592.
Amazon surged 13% after reporting better-than-expected second-quarter revenue. The results, which were aided by the strength of its cloud-computing business, reinforced investor confidence in artificial intelligence spending.
Apple, in contrast, was more than 7% lower ahead of Friday’s opening bell. The firm’s fiscal third-quarter revenue topped expectations, helped by a 22% jump in iPhone sales, though a shortfall in service revenue pushed its stock lower.
Meta, which sank almost 8% in Thursday’s session, was up 1.7% in premarket trade.
The moves followed a powerful rally during Thursday’s session led by Microsoft — which jumped 16% after the software giant posted stronger-than-expected Azure cloud growth.
Despite the week’s sharp swings, the major averages remained on track to finish higher. The Dow was up about 0.5% for the week heading into Friday’s session, while the S&P 500 had gained roughly 0.4% and the NASDAQ Composite was ahead about 0.6%.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 galloped 4% Friday, while in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng acquired 0.1%.
Oil prices moved higher 57 cents to $84.16 U.S. a barrel.
Gold prices sank $46.80 to $4,113.80 U.S an ounce.
