Stock futures pointed to a marginally higher start for Canada's main stock index on Wednesday
The S&P/TSX composite index fell 130.20 points, to close Tuesday trading at 15,133.85. March futures were up 0.02% Wednesday.
The Canadian dollar dipped 0.05 cents to 79.98 cents U.S. early Wednesday.
Canaccord Genuity raised the rating on Martinrea International Inc. to buy from hold
Barclays raised the target price on Whitecap Resources Inc. to $14 from $13

U.S. stock futures are edging lower, alongside most European markets.
Ahead of the opening bell, futures for the Dow Jones Industrials shed 43 points, or 0.2%, to 18,143. Futures for the S&P 500 slipped six points, or 0.3%, to 2,098.75, and futures for the NASDAQ dipped 11 points, or 0.3%, to 4,445.50.
Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle, PetSmart and the maker of Jack Daniel's whiskey, Brown-Forman, will report ahead of the open.
H&R Block is among the main companies reporting after the close.
Shares in Standard Chartered are jumping by about 4% in London after the British bank reported full-year results.
The bank reported a sharp drop in profits, but investors bid shares higher as they were relieved the bank didn't announce plans to raise more capital.
The U.S. Federal Reserve may also cause waves Wednesday when it publishes its Beige Book at 2 p.m. ET. The publication offers anecdotal information on the state of the economy.
Asian stock markets mostly ended the day with losses.
