Stock futures pointed to a lower opening for stock markets in Toronto on Friday as a strengthening U.S. dollar ended a three-day bull run in oil.
The S&P/TSX Composite Index was lower Thursday by 0.41 points to 13,787.80. June futures were off 0.3%.
The Canadian dollar dozed 0.26 cents to 77.59 cents U.S. early Friday.
Sirius XM Canada Holdings Inc said that Sirius XM Holdings Inc, its biggest shareholder, along with other shareholders would take the company private for about $351 million.

U.S. stock futures are down, European markets are sliding in early trading and Asian markets all closed the week with losses.
Ahead of the opening bell, futures for the Dow Jones Industrials dipped 65 points, or 0.4%, to 17,603, while futures for the S&P 500 fell 5.75 points, or 0.3%, to 2,053. NASDAQ futures faded 13.75 points, or 0.3%, to 4,321
Shares in Allergan were falling in pre-market trading. The drug maker has had a difficult year and shares have already crashed by over 30% since the start of January.
In April, Pfizer called off a massive $150-billion U.S. merger with Allergan after the Obama administration issued rules designed to crack down on some mergers.
Investors may be selling Allergan Friday as they speculate European drug maker Bayer won't step in with a bid for the firm. Reports came out on Thursday that Bayer may make a bid for Monsanto. Bayer declined to comment.
Among retail issues, investors may be disappointed with Nordstrom's latest earnings, which came in below analyst expectations.
Brookfield Asset Management, Honda, JC Penney and the soccer club Manchester United are all reporting results ahead of the opening bell.
On matters economic, the U.S. Census Bureau is reporting national retail sales data for April this morning, followed by the University of Michigan’s Consumer Sentiment Survey for April at 10 a.m.
