Futures Move Up Ahead of Brexit

Stock futures for equity markets in Toronto edged higher on Tuesday on expectations Britons will vote to stay in the European Union, but gains were limited as oil prices fell.

U.S. stock futures continue to move higher Tuesday after abroad global market rally on Monday.

Ahead of the opening bell, futures for the Dow Jones Industrials gained 60 points, or 0.3%, to 17,772, while futures for the S&P 500 picked up nine points, or 0.4%, to 2,083.25. NASDAQ futures added 20 points, or 0.5%, to 4,410.

Boeing confirmed Tuesday that it signed a deal to sell Iran Air new passenger aircraft.

This marks the first major contract between a U.S. company and Iran since nuclear-related sanctions on the country were lifted earlier this year.

Shares in Liberty Global could be volatile Tuesday after the company announced how it will distribute new shares of its Latin America and Caribbean unit, which is being dubbed "LiLAC Group."

Carmax is set to report earnings before the open, while La-Z-Boy, FedEx and Adobe Systems will report earnings after the close.

European markets and Asian markets are struggling to keep pace. Some major European indexes are slipping a tad following stunning gains of 3% or more on Monday.

British voters will decide Thursday whether they want the U.K. to leave the European Union.

Legendary investor George Soros has weighed into the Brexit debate, warning that if U.K. voters choose to leave the European Union, the pound could crash by more than 20%.
