Canadian stock index futures were little changed as investors digested October trade balance data, due later in the day, and the Bank of Canada's policy meet on Wednesday.

Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc said it would acquire financial network HollisWealth from ScotiaBank. The cash-and-stock deal is expected to "modestly" add to Industrial Alliance's earnings in 2018,
Bank of Montreal has reported fourth-quarter earnings well ahead of market expectations, benefiting from strong performances at its capital markets and U.S. personal and commercial businesses.
Hudson's Bay Co reported a 28.6% rise in quarterly sales, helped by its expansion in Europe and the acquisition of online retailer Gilt. The company's consolidated retail sales increased to $3.30 billion in the quarter ended Oct. 29.
Suncor Energy said on Monday that it had resolved a dispute with the Canada Revenue Agency over its income tax treatment from 2007.
The Tax Court of Canada's decision closes the dispute between CRA and Suncor over the company's income tax treatment of realized losses in 2007 on the settlement of certain derivative contracts.
Canaccord Genuity raised the price target on Canadian Energy Services & Technology to $9.25, considering a significant sequential cash flow recovery of the company.
Canaccord Genuity raised the rating on Mullen Group to buy from hold, citing a secular increase in frac intensity, a significant operating leverage in cost structures and an exposure to the most economically advantaged drilling locations.
On the economic docket, Statistics Canada reported that Canada's imports fell 6.3% to $44.7 billion in October, while exports increased 0.5% to $43.6 billion.
As a result, Canada's merchandise trade deficit with the world narrowed from a record $4.4 billion in September to $1.1 billion in October.

U.S. stock index futures pointed to a flat open on Tuesday after notching record highs in the previous session while shrugging off any market uncertainty caused by Italy's rejection of constitutional reform and Prime Minister Matteo Renzi's subsequent resignation.
Ahead of the opening bell, futures for the Dow Jones Industrials progressed 13 points, or 0.1%, to 19,223. Futures for the S&P 500 moved higher 2.75 points, or 0.1%, to 2,207. NASDAQ futures gained 9.75 points, or 0.2%, to 4,790.25
On the earnings front AutoZone, Michaels Cos, HD Supply Holdings and Toll Brothers all reported before the bell. Dave & Buster's, Oxford Industries, Analogic and Aerovironment are due to report after the bell.
On the data front, Tuesday will see U.S. trade deficit, productivity and unit labour costs, followed by factory orders due at 10 a.m. ET.
European shares were generally higher as morning turned to afternoon on the continent. In Asia, the Shanghai Composite in China closed 0.2% lower, while the Nikkei in Japan closed 0.5% higher.
