Stock futures in Toronto were little changed on Friday as investors gear up for Christmas holidays.
The S&P/TSX Composite advanced 29.34 points to conclude Thursday at 15,335.23, with futures dipping 0.03% early Friday.
The Canadian dollar slid 0.46 cents to 73.99 U.S. early Friday.
Raymond James raised the rating on Oceanagold Corp. to strong buy from outperform.
Dundee cut the rating on Sun Life Financial to neutral from buy
Dundee raised the target price on Royal Bank of Canada to $93 from $87
On the economic beat, Statistics Canada reported the economy lost some steam during October, as gross domestic product was down 0.3%, after four straight upward months.
The agency said widespread decreases in manufacturing output and lower oil and gas extraction were the major contributors to the decline.

U.S. stock index futures pointed to a lower open on Friday as many traders are expected to be away from their desk for the Christmas holiday.
Ahead of the opening bell, futures for the Dow Jones Industrials sagged 20 points, or 0.1%, to 19,853. Futures for the S&P 500 dipped 2.25 points, or 0.1%, to 2,256.50. NASDAQ futures gave back six points, or 0.1%, at 4,930.50
There are some economic data released today, including new home sales and consumer sentiment both due at 10 a.m. ET.
European indexes were fairly flat by noon over on the continent, while Asian markets were generally lower.
