U.S. stock index futures ticked higher ahead of Wednesday's open after the release of better-than-expected jobs data.
Futures for the Dow Jones Industrials picked up 90 points, or 0.3%, to 26,987
S&P 500 futures hiked 10.5 points, or 0.4%, to 2,939, while futures for the NASDAQ composite zoomed 31 points, or 0.4%, to 7,683.75
Private payrolls increased by 230,000 in September — the most since February — according to a report from ADP and Moody's Analytics.
Economists polled by Refinitiv (formerly Thomson Reuters) expected a gain of 185,000. The report is often seen as a preview to the government's non-farm payrolls report, which is set for release Friday morning.
Other data scheduled for release include the Institute for Supply Management non-manufacturing index at 10 a.m. ET.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is expected to take part in a moderated discussion at The Economic Club of Chicago.
Overseas, in Japan, the Nikkei 225 dipped 0.7% Wednesday, while in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng fell 0.1%
