AI-Powered Cyber Threats Force Security Tech Buying Surge

Issued on behalf of Scope Technologies Corp.

VANCOUVER – Baystreet.ca News Commentary — Enterprise security teams are scrambling to counter AI-generated attacks that can now obfuscate malicious code and evade traditional defenses, with Microsoft recently blocking sophisticated phishing campaigns that likely used large language models to disguise their payload[1]. The urgency has intensified as a new federal report from CNAS warns that future frontier AI capabilities could "tip the scales toward attackers in dramatic and potentially dangerous ways,"[2] while over 60% of IT leaders admit their organizations are not prepared to defend against AI-powered threats[3]. Security-focused companies positioned at the forefront of this technological arms race include Scope Technologies Corp. (CSE: SCPE) (OTCQB: SCPCF), Accenture plc (NYSE: ACN), Okta, Inc. (NASDAQ: OKTA), SailPoint, Inc. (NASDAQ: SAIL), and Cien Corporation (NYSE: CIEN).

At a governmental level, wheels are in motion to secure respective nations, including a new bipartisan senate bill that would create a national quantum computing cybersecurity strategy[4]. With quantum computing quickly becoming a reality, experts are writing about how the clock is ticking on AI security in a quantum world[5], especially with Nvidia’s Jensen Huang declaring back in June that quantum computing is reaching an “inflection point”[6].

Scope Technologies Corp. (CSE: SCPE) (OTCQB: SCPCF) recently officially acquired Plurilock Security Private Limited ("Cloud Codes"), an India-based SSO and cloud platform founded in 2011, as part of a strategic move that immediately adds 270 business clients and 88,000 active end-users to its quantum-secure ecosystem.

The acquisition delivers immediate revenue accretion with Cloud Codes generating CAD $673,012 in annual revenues for 2025 and CAD $228,131 in net income, demonstrating profitable operations that strengthen Scope's financial foundation. The company's established global footprint spans India (80%), Europe (13%), and the United States (7%), providing Scope with proven international distribution channels and enterprise relationships across regulated industries.

Under the transaction terms, Scope Technologies paid CAD $100,000 in cash and issued 4,200,000 common shares at $0.40 per share, bringing total consideration to CAD $1,780,000. The deal remains subject to regulatory approvals from both exchanges.

"By bringing Cloud Codes into the Scope Technologies family, we aim to accelerate our mission to deliver seamless, scalable, and quantum-secure authentication, entropy, and storage services," said Ted Carefoot, CEO of Scope Technologies. "With full ownership of the infrastructure, we believe we can innovate more rapidly and offer enterprise-grade services that future-proof authentication against quantum threats."

The strategic rationale centers on Cloud Codes' proprietary distributed storage middleware, which becomes the technological backbone for QSE's decentralized cloud infrastructure. This vertical integration positions Scope to control the complete technology stack for quantum-safe authentication and storage, creating competitive advantages as traditional SSO vendors scramble to address post-quantum threats.

Scope plans to rebrand the Cloud Codes platform under the QSE Group ecosystem, with future releases bundling quantum-secure SSO services with storage offerings targeting banking, healthcare, and organizations requiring long-term data integrity. The timing proves strategic as NIST ratified quantum-resistant encryption standards including CRYSTALS-Kyber, Dilithium, and SPHINCS+ in 2024, with additional updates continuing through 2025-2026.

Market positioning appears compelling as the global SSO market is projected to exceed US$6 billion by 2030, while post-quantum cryptography is expected to reach US$17.7 billion over the same timeframe, positioning Scope at the intersection of two explosive growth markets.

"This isn't just theoretical anymore," said Carefoot at a DEF CON 33 Hacking Conference earlier this year. "Quantum-powered adversaries in the near future will be able to bypass encryption, hijack sessions, and poison AI classifiers at a pace defenders have never seen."

This acquisition follows Scope's technical leadership demonstration at DEF CON 33 in Las Vegas, where CTO Sean Prescott presented "Who Controls the Kill Switch of the Future?" at Malware Village, outlining how quantum adversaries could soon hijack sessions and bypass encryption faster than current defenses can respond.

Earlier this year, the company secured expansion capital through a C$2.8 million financing round backed by strategic investor First Majestic Silver Corp. Proceeds are funding infrastructure scaling, global distribution expansion, and development of the QSE mobile application for iOS and Android platforms.

With planned vertical ownership of both quantum-secure infrastructure and identity lifecycle management, Scope Technologies positions itself among the first enterprises offering comprehensive post-quantum authentication at scale, potentially creating decisive competitive advantages as the cybersecurity industry prepares for the quantum transition.

Accenture plc (NYSE: ACN) has acquired IAMConcepts, a privately held Canadian company specializing in identity and access management services, to bolster its cybersecurity capabilities across key critical infrastructure industries. The Toronto-based firm serves some of Canada's largest banks, insurance companies, higher education institutions and critical infrastructure organizations, having completed hundreds of IAM projects since its 2013 founding. This acquisition represents Accenture's latest strategic move to expand its cybersecurity portfolio, following 22 acquisitions in the sector since 2015.

"As AI accelerates the threat landscape, organizations must rethink their approach to identity security," said Paolo Dal Cin, global lead, Accenture Cybersecurity. "Yet most identity and access management programs still focus predominantly on human users. By combining IAMConcepts' technical skills and critical infrastructure knowledge with Accenture's end-to-end cybersecurity services and expertise, we will help our clients to secure digital identities through a more holistic approach to threat detection."

The acquisition brings highly specialized, credentialed talent to Accenture's cybersecurity team while enhancing the company's ability to deliver advanced IAM solutions across financial services, power utilities, mining and transportation sectors. IAMConcepts provides end-to-end IAM services including Identity Governance and Administration, Privileged Access Management and Customer Identity and Access Management capabilities.

Okta, Inc. (NASDAQ: OKTA) has announced new platform capabilities designed to secure AI-driven enterprises and combat fraud through an integrated identity security fabric approach. The company's new Okta Platform and Auth0 Platform capabilities enable organizations to build secure, standards-first AI agents while issuing and verifying tamper-proof digital credentials to address rising AI-powered fraud threats. These innovations come as 91% of organizations already use AI agents, yet only 10% have strategies for managing non-human identities.

"AI is changing the workplace faster than organizations can adapt," said Kristen Swanson, SVP of Design and Research, Okta. "We're starting to see poorly built, deployed, or managed agents expose the risks of using a traditional patchwork of identity solutions. The modern enterprise requires an identity security fabric that can unify silos and reduce the attack surface. Our latest innovations weave agents into that fabric to manage their entire identity lifecycle, leveraging open standards like Cross App Access that help elevate the entire industry and create a more secure AI-powered ecosystem."

Okta for AI Agents will provide end-to-end security for AI agent lifecycles with features including discovery and risk identification, centralized control for access management, and automated governance for security policy enforcement. The company's Cross App Access protocol extends OAuth to secure agent-driven interactions, with support from industry leaders including Automation Anywhere, AWS, Google Cloud, Salesforce and others.
