12:01 PM EST - Bank of Nova Scotia : posted a 10 percent rise in third-quarter earnings on Tuesday, helped by strength in its Canadian banking and capital markets' divisions. Canada's second-biggest bank by assets earned a net income of $1.03 billion, or $1.02 per diluted share, in the three months ended July 31.
