10:00 AM EST - Inco Ltd. : just acquired by Brazil's CVRD in a $19 billion deal, is posting the highest-ever quarterly earnings in its 104-year history. The company reported earnings of US$701 million in the third quarter, up from US$64 million a year earlier. The record profit amounted to $3.08 a diluted share, up from 29 cents per share a year earlier.
