12:15 PM EST - EnCana Corp. : Canada's biggest natural-gas producer, said it plans to cut 2008 capital spending in Alberta by about $1 billion if a panel's recommendations to boost royalties and taxes in the western Canadian province are adopted in full. Such a cut would represent about 30 to 40 percent of EnCana's $2.5 billion to $3 billion planned investment in Alberta, it said. EnCana Corp.
shares T.ECA are trading up 0.67 cents at $61.96.
