04:20 PM EST - C.A. Bancorp Inc. : has announced a takeover of Agrifinance and AgriCard, which provide equipment financing and credit-card services to farmers. The purchase of these assets from Canadian Co-operative Agricultural Financial Services, owned by the credit union system, is valued at $89 million - $11 million in equity and $78 million in assumed debt. The Toronto merchant bank said it is conducting the takeover through a new subsidiary, AgriFinancial Canada Corp., which is owned 90 per cent by C.A. Bancorp and 10 per cent by Sentry Select Total Strategy Fund. C.A. Bancorp Inc.
