05:10 PM EST - Western Oil Sands Inc. : shareholders have approved a $5.84-billion takeover by U.S.-based Marathon Oil Corp. Western shareholders voted Tuesday more than 99 per cent in favour of the acquisition announced in July. They are to receive $35.50 in cash or 0.5932 of a Marathon share for each of their shares and will get stock in a spinoff company holding Western's assets in Kurdistan. Western Oil Sands Inc.
shares T.WTO are trading up 34 cents at $38.44.
