09:59 AM EST - Thomson Corp. : said its third-quarter profit jumped to US$419 million from a year-earlier US$309 million. Earnings for the quarter ended Sept. 30 amounted to 65 cents a share, compared with 47 cents per share a year ago, the company reported Thursday. On average, analysts had been forecasting earnings of 57 cents a share, according to Thomson Financial. Quarterly revenue increased five percent to $2.4 billion. Thomson Corp.
