10:04 AM EST - Biovail Corp. : has reached a settlement with Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. in its U.S. patent suit against a Watson subsidiary over a generic version of Biovail's Cardizem blood-pressure drug, blocking its release until 2009. Subsidiary Biovail Laboratories International SRL will receive a royalty based on sales of Watson's generic version of the once-daily drug and Watson subsidiary Andrx Pharmaceuticals Inc. won't begin marketing the product until April 1, 2009.
