10:17 AM EST - Sun Life Financial Inc. : raised its dividend Thursday while reporting its best-ever annual results, although with a flagging in the fourth quarter amid financial-market unease. Net income attributable to common shareholders was $555 million or 97 cents per share in the October-December period, off from $577 million in the third quarter and up just 1.8 per cent from $545 million or 94 cents per share in the year-ago period. Return on equity edged up to 14.2 per cent from 14 per cent. The result fell short of the Thomson Financial analyst expectation of $1.03 per share. Sun Life Financial Inc.
