12:18 PM EST - Sears Canada Ltd : shareholders rejected a buyout offer from the retailer's U.S. parent Sears Holding Corp., voting to keep the Canadian arm a public company. Sears had offered $18 a share, or $892 million for the Sears Canada shares that it doesn't already own, in a bid to take the company private. Although the motion received the required two-thirds approval in one vote, it failed to get the majority backing of Sears Canada's minority shareholders. Of the eligible minority shareholders who voted, about 61.5 percent didn't support the deal.Sears Canada Ltd.
