10:05 AM EST - Domtar Corp. : posted a first-quarter profit of $36 million, down from a year earlier $49 million, as higher-than-expected inflation on raw materials took a bite out of earnings. Domtar's net earnings of 7 cents per share, versus a year-earlier profit of 14 cents per share. Excluding one-time items, Domtar said its earnings were 5 cents per share. Analysts polled by Thomson Financial had looked for the company to earn 4 cents per share. Domtar Corp.
shares T.UFS are trading down 26 cents at $5.74.
