10:01 AM EST - Golden Queen Mining Co. Ltd. : Announced preliminary operating results for 2016 for its 50%-owned Soledad Mountain Project in Mojave, California. Commissioning of the facilities commenced in the first quarter of 2016. The inaugural gold pour took place on March 1, 2016. A total of 8.9 million tons of ore and waste were mined in 2016, including 2.6 million tons of ore (waste to ore strip ratio of 2.4:1). The plant processed a total of 2.7 million tons of ore at an average gold grade of 0.014 ounces per ton and an average silver grade of 0.33 ounces per ton, Furthermore, 2016 production totaled 19,030 ounces of gold and 194,792 ounces of silver.
