12:42 PM EST - Tembec Inc. : said it slashed its fourth-quarter loss to $54.5 million from $134.9 million a year ago. The Montreal-based company's loss amounted to 64 cents a share on sales of $863 million for the three months ended Sept. 30, up from a loss of $1.58 a share on sales of $816.8 million in the same period last year. The results include an after-tax gain of $5.9 million from translation of foreign debt. Tembec Inc.
shares T.TBC are trading down 7 cents at $1.60.
