10:11 AM EST - Lihir Gold Ltd. : reported that for the second quarter, group gold production increased 27% to 177 thousand oz from the year-ago quarter. Looking ahead, the company said it expects group production for the year 2008 to be over 850 thousand oz, in line with the prior guidance. Total cash costs per ounce for the full year expected to be less than $400/oz from Lihir Island, the company said. Lihir Gold Ltd.
