10:08 AM EST - Air Canada : is blaming higher fuel prices for a big drop in its second-quarter operating income. The country's biggest airline says it spent $212 million more on fuel from April to June than it did in the same time last year. That reduced Air Canada's operating income to $7 million, down from $88 million in the second quarter of 2007. Net income fell to $122 million, or $1.22 per share, down from $155 million in the second quarter of 2007. Air Canada shares T.AC.A are trading down 6 cents at $5.85.
