12:03 PM EST - Brookfield Asset Management Inc. : said Friday morning that second quarter profit fell from last year on higher expenses, despite a strong revenue growth. The Calgary, Alberta-based publicly owned asset management holding company said net income for the second quarter fell to $110 million or $0.17 per share from $153 million or $0.25 per share in the prior-year quarter, and came in line with the average of six analysts polled by First Call/Thomson Financial of $0.17 per share.
