04:03 PM EST - Zi Corp. : said it has received an unsolicited takeover proposal from a U.S. company worth about $40 million. The developer of computer-device user interfaces said Friday that it had received a bid by Nuance Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: NUAN) of Burlington, Mass., to acquire the Canadian company for 80 cents US a share. With 50.6 million Zi shares outstanding, the offer values the company at just over US$40 million. shares T.ZIC are trading down 1 cent at $0.72.
