10:03 AM EST - Sherwood Copper Corp. : Wednesday reported a narrower loss for the second quarter compared to the prior-year period, aided by income generation from mining operations and lower loss on derivatives. Second quarter net loss for the Vancouver-based company narrowed to $0.2 million from a loss of $21.3 million in the same period last year. The company attributed the improvement to income of $15.7 million from mining operations in the quarter compared to a loss from mining operations of $2.3 million in the year-ago period.
