12:14 PM EST - Sobeys Inc. : says its second-quarter earnings rose to $47.2 million, from a year-earlier $45.8 million, despite restructuring costs. Earnings for the quarter ended Nov. 4 amounted to 73 cents a share, compared with 71 cents per share a year ago, the Stellarton-based company said Tuesday. Analysts' consensus forecast was for earnings of 75 cents per share, before one-time items, according to Thomson Financial. Sobeys Inc.
shares T.SBY are trading up 19 cents at $38.90.
