12:18 PM EST - Transcontinental Inc. : increased it profits in the third quarter by 9 percent despite challenges from the value of the Canadian dollar and the slow U.S. economy. The Montreal-based printing and media company earned $30.3 million for the period ended July 31, up from $27.8 million in the year-ago period. Earnings per share were 38 cents, up from 33 cents last year, an increase of 14 percent. Transcontinental Inc.
