12:08 PM EST - Vecima Networks Inc. : reported a 40% rise in fourth-quarter profit before extraordinary gains, compared to last year. The Victoria, Canada-based company's fourth-quarter net income before extraordinary gains was $4.4 million or $0.18 per share, compared to $3.2 million or $0.14 per share in the same period last year. The increase in net income was a result of strong growth in sales and productivity. Total revenue for the quarter increased 38% to $36.4 million from $26.3 million in the year-ago quarter.
