03:32 PM EST - TransCanada Corp. : reported an increase in third-quarter earnings, driven by the energy business and lower operating expenses. Revenues, however, declined from last year. The company also declared a dividend of $0.36 per share for the fourth quarter. The Calgary, Canada based company reported net income for the third quarter of $390 million or $0.67 per share, up from $324 million, or $0.60 per share for the same quarter in 2007. Comparable earnings for third quarter increased 11% to $366 million or $0.63 per share from $309 million or $0.57 per share for the year-ago quarter.
