Return on common shareholders' equity was 5.0% for the first quarter of 2020, compared with 6.5% for the first quarter of 2019. On an adjusted basis, net income was $36.9 million and diluted earnings per share were $0.79 for the first quarter of 2020, down 17% and 19% respectively, compared with $44.7 million and $0.98 for the first quarter of 2019.
