10:03 AM EST - Gildan Activewear Inc. : reported fourth quarter net earnings of US$21.4 million or US$0.18 per share, compared to US$40.9 million or US$0.34 per share in the same period last year. Adjusted net earnings for the quarter were US$22.4 million, compared to US$45.8 million in the prior year quarter. Excluding the impact of the tax charge, adjusted net earnings in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2008 were US$49.3 million or US$0.41 per share. Sales for the quarter rose 27.4% to US$324.7 million from US$254.9 million in same quarter last year. Gildan Activewear Inc.
