Sales increased 5.7% to $1,350.6 million, compared to $1,277.9 million for the fourth quarter of 2019, with organic growth of 2.5%, acquisition-related growth of 2.8% and a 0.4% positive impact from foreign currency translation. Operating income increased 22.7% to $213.3 million compared to $173.9 million for the comparable quarter of 2019. Operating income for the 2019 fourth quarter included a $9.6-million pension curtailment gain, associated with Company’s decision to close the legacy Innovia U.K. defined benefit pension plan.
