10:04 AM EST - European Goldfields Ltd. : reported that Stratoni mine production for 2008 was 272,000 wet metric tonnes, an increase of 26% compared to 2007, as new mine infrastructure was completed and operating efficiencies were achieved. During the same period, a total of 263,000 dry metric tonnes of ore was processed through the Stratoni mill. For the fourth quarter, ore mined was 70,000 wet metric tonnes, higher than 51,000 wet metric tonnes in the prior year. Ore processed for the period was 73,000 dry metric tonnes.
