03:56 PM EST - Norbord Inc. : reported a wider net loss for the fourth quarter, hurt by lower demand for its core products and higher input costs, including energy and resin prices. The wood panel producer has been hard-hit by the protracted downturn in the U.S. housing industry as well as a collapse in U.K. housing activity. Looking ahead, the company said it does not expect any recovery in the housing markets in North America or Europe during 2009. The Toronto-based company's net loss for the fourth quarter widened to US$30 million, or US$0.19 per share, from US$13 million, or US$0.09 per share, in the same period last year. Norbord Inc.
