11:45 AM EST - Lakeside Steel Inc. : announced that it would temporarily layoff up to an additional 84 hourly employees at its unit, Lakeside Steel Corp. In the past three months, the company made the job cuts for the third time at its manufacturing facility in Welland, Ontario, in order to reduce the costs amid declining markets. In December 2008, Lakeside temporarily laid off 40 hourly employees, representing about 11 per cent of its unionized workforce. Last month, the company temporarily laid off 61 hourly employees, representing about 19 per cent of its unionized workforce. Lakeside Steel Inc.
