03:30 PM EST - Toromont Industries Ltd. : reported increased fourth quarter earnings from the year-ago period, benefiting from record compression package sales driven by strong growth of the U.S. compression business. Net income for the quarter rose 25 per cent to $49.1 million or $0.76 per share from $39.3 million or $0.61 per share in the same period last year. Excluding items in both years, net earnings for the quarter were $134.0 million or $2.06 per share, up three per cent from $108.9 million or $1.69 per share in 2007. Quarterly revenues increased 14 per cent to $609.7 million from $536.2 million in the year-ago period. Toromont Industries Ltd.
