09:40 AM EST - Enbridge Inc. : reported fourth-quarter earnings applicable to common shareholders of $263.4 million or $0.72 per share, compared to $248.6 million, or $0.70 per share last year. Adjusted earnings for the quarter were $202.5 million or $0.55 per share, compared to $198.6 million, or $0.56 per share in the prior year. On average, four analysts polled by First Call/Thomson Financial expected the company to earn $0.48 U.S. per share. Revenue for the quarter increased to $3.92 billion from $3.2 billion in the prior year. Looking ahead, the company expects adjusted earnings for 2009 to be in the range of $2.18 - $2.32 per share. Wall Street analysts estimate earnings of $1.97 U.S. per share. Also, the company raised its quarterly dividend by 12 per cent to $0.37 per common share, effective March 1, 2009. Enbridge Inc.
