09:46 AM EST - Rona Inc. : announced that its fourth-quarter net earnings were $25.7 million or $0.22 per share, compared to $30.5 million or $0.26 per share in the year-ago quarter. Excluding the unusual items, net earnings for the current quarter were $26.3 million or $0.23 per share. Consolidated sales for the fourth quarter was $1.12 billion, up 3.5 per cent from $1.09 billion in the year-ago quarter. Same-store sales in fourth quarter 2008 decreased by only 0.8 per cent, excluding 0.6-per-cent deflation in the average price of forest products. Rona Inc.
