12:02 PM EST - Transcontinental Inc. : announced that its first quarter net loss was $6.4 million or $0.08 per share, compared to net income of $34.1 million or $0.41 per share in the year-ago quarter. Adjusted net income for the quarter decreased to $15.1 million or $0.19 per share, from $28.4 million or $0.34 per share in the year-ago quarter. Consolidated revenues for the quarter were $604.1 million, compared to $596 million in the same quarter of 2008. At its March 12, 2009 meeting, the Corporation's Board maintained the quarterly dividend of $0.08 per share on Class A Subordinate Voting Shares and Class B Shares. These dividends are payable on April 24, 2009 to shareholders of record at the close of business on April 6, 2009. On an annual basis, this represents a dividend of $0.32 per share.
