Raw materials inventory price declines and winter weather in Germany hurt its quarterly results, the company said in a statement. The Markham, Ontario-based company's net loss for the quarter was $50.62 million U.S., or $1.42 U.S. per share, compared to a net income of $5.99 million U.S., or $0.21 U.S. per share, last year. Excluding share-based compensation expenses of $1.0 million, loss for the quarter was $49.59 million U.S., or $1.39 U.S. per share. On average, nine analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $0.31 U.S. per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items. Quarterly net revenues declined to $73.01 million U.S. from $127.46 million U.S. a year ago, but came in above analysts' estimate of $69.12 million U.S. Canadian Solar, Inc.
