09:59 AM EST - Suncor Energy Inc. : is close to purchasing Petro-Canada for about $15 billion in stock, uniting two of Canada's oil companies, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter. The report specified that $15 billion will represent about 30-per-cent premium for Petro-Canada. The report also added that the deal would allow the companies to merge and conserving cash, a sign of pressure some oil producers face among the sink in crude prices since last summer.
