09:46 AM EST - Teck Cominco Ltd. : announced first quarter net earnings of $241 million, or $0.50 per share, compared to $345 million or $0.78 per share in the prior-year quarter. Adjusted net earnings for the quarter declined to $270 million from $326 million in the year-ago quarter. Net earnings from continuing operations for the quarter was $229 million or $0.47 per share, compared to $344 million or $0.77 per share in the previous year quarter. Revenues for the quarter rose 11 per cent to $1.71 billion from $1.54 billion in the same period last year. Teck Cominco Ltd.
