09:48 AM EST - Day4 Energy Inc. : reported first-quarter net loss of $2.62 million or $0.07 per share, compared to net loss of $732,000 or $0.02 per share last year. The wider net loss in the first quarter compared to the same period in 2008 was mainly attributed to the increase in operating costs from an increase in staff, operating a larger facility, and activities relating to the start up of Jabil as well as the impact of the difficult market conditions on the company's gross margins. Sales declined to $4.34 million from $13.5 million in the prior year. Given the continued slowdown in demand combined with continued deterioration of ASP the company has taken writedowns in the first quarter and expect further writedowns may continue into the second quarter.
